The Faridpur Environment Development Forum organised an event at Sadipur Government Primary School on Thursday, where about 100 students received fruit tree saplings such as elephant apple, wood apple, and custard apple.

To tackle climate change and maintain environmental balance, students must be encouraged to plant trees, said Saeed Anwar, Deputy Director of the Department of Environment in Faridpur. He made this call while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion and tree sapling distribution event focused on environmental responsibility.

He added that due to the high population in our country, houses, markets, and factories are rapidly expanding, resulting in massive deforestation. Unfortunately, trees are not being replanted at the same rate they are being cut down. Therefore, we must plant more trees to restore the balance.

The meeting was presided over by Forum President Kazi Sirajul Islam. Among the speakers were General Secretary Moniruzzaman Monir, Joint Secretary Asaduzzaman Bipul, and Assistant Teacher Md. Majnu Molla.
