Tree plantation campaign begins marking Mujib Barsho


Bangladesh Air Force has undertaken a memorial tree plantation programme marking the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman, said ISPR.  

Chief of Air Staff of BAF, Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat inaugurated the  programme. He  planted a sapling at Air Headquarters premises on Tuesday. 

BAF celebrated tree plantation programme in this year with the slogan of 'Shabuz Brikkho-Nirmol Paribesh Bangabandhur Bangladesh'. 

Principal Staff Officers of Air Headquarters took part in the tree plantation programme. He also planted different saplings. Among others, Directors and senior BAF officers of Air Headquarters were also present in the program. Later at all air bases and units of BAF also simultaneously organized the memorial tree plantation programme.

Under this programme, different species of saplings of fruit bearing, herbals, shade giving and timber value tree were planted.

On the other hand, Navy Chief Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury planted a sapling at the Navy Headquarters on Tuesday, as part of a special tree planting campaign-2020, 'Green Tree-Clean Environment, Bangabandhu's Bangladesh'.

He inaugurated the program at the Navy Headquarters premises in Banani. Later, special prayers were offered for the success of the program. Among others, Principal Staff Officers of the Naval Headquarters, Regional Commanders of the Dhaka Naval Area and a significant number of military and civilian officers, employees and sailors were present at the occasion.

Under the implementation of the program, initiatives have been taken to plant saplings of various kinds of fruits, herbs, wood and shade trees in all the naval areas under the Navy. 

After inaugurating the tree planting program, the Chief of Naval Staff called upon the naval personnel at all levels to come forward for the proper implementation of the steps taken by the present government. He also emphasized on dealing with natural disasters and maintaining the balance of the environment by planting more trees in the coastal areas.
