The week-long tree and fruit fair ended at Ishwadi upazila in Pabna on Monday. Ishwardi upazila administration and Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) jointly arranged the fair. Director of bean research and regional research centre of Ishwardi Rois Uddin Chowdhury spoke at the concluding ceremony of the fair as the chief guest.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Abdul Latif presided over the meeting, while Deputy Director of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Azhar Ali, officers of DAE Mostofa Hasan Imam, AKM Saifuddin Eahia, Murad Ali Malitha and Abdul Halim and nursery owner Ataur Rahman Mukul were also present in the meeting, among others.
The speakers of the meeting said that the tree plantation is very important for balance of ecology and environment. They called upon all to plant trees in their homes and other places.
Meanwhile, three nursery got prizes among the 14 stalls of the fair. Earlier, former Land Minister Shmasur Rahman Sharif inaugurated the fair on July 30.
