Transport labourers took out procession and held a way side meeting in front of Seroil Bus Terminal area of the city on Sunday morning demanding resumption of movement of intercity and the local bus services to and from Rajshahi. After parading various streets of the city, the agitators organised a brief street corner meeting at the bus terminal area.
Presided over by Mahtab Hossain Chowdhury, General Secretary of Rajshahi Motor Shramik Union, the meeting was addressed, among others, by the President of district Motor Shramik Union Jahangir Alam.
Speakers at the meeting said, nearly 20,000 transport labourers with their family members were leading an inhuman life due to closure of transports for a long time due to the lockdown. They demanded to resume transport movements throughout the country by following health rules.
