Participants at a views exchange meeting on Tuesday said that implementation of various income generating programmes for the transgender people ( Hijra) are being turned into mainstream development workers.
They said joint initiatives of the government and non-government organizations have created
opportunity to rehabilitate the transgender people in the society.
Unnayan Sangah, a non-government organization, under the project of socio-economic development for the disadvantaged transgender people, arranged the meeting at its office at Deurpar Chandra area here.
A total of 20 people of various professions took part in the views exchange meeting chaired by Director, Unnoyaon Sangaha, Zahangir Selim.
