Transfer opportunity for MPO teachers

Published : 04 Apr 2024 10:02 PM

Good news for MPO teachers across the country, as the Ministry of Education has announced that they will now have the opportunity to transfer to different institutions. This comes after a long discussion and the formulation of a draft policy, which is set to be finalized after the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

Currently, there is no transfer system for private teachers, and MPO teachers have to start working in an institution and retire from there. However, with the new policy, MPO teachers recruited on the recommendation of the Private Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) will now have the opportunity to transfer to different institutions.

The draft policy states that only teachers appointed on the recommendation of the NTRCA will be considered for transfer for the time being. This is because these teachers have been appointed in institutions approved by the government, whereas other MPO teachers have been appointed in the institutions of their choice.

The transfer policy will be applicable for transfers in the Same Post and Designation, and transfer applications will be processed between October 16 and December 15 every year. The Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DEO) will be responsible for inviting, accepting, and disposing of the applications for transfer of teachers under MPO.

In terms of prioritizing transfers, the one who is serving farthest away from the permanent address mentioned in the NTRCA application will get priority for transfer. Female teachers-employees can also be transferred to their husband or own permanent address. The draft policy also provides cautionary guidelines for this transfer, stating that recommending any person, group, organization for transfer shall be considered as a disciplinary offence. Additionally, a teacher transferred for transfer will not receive any allowance.

This policy is a much-needed change for MPO teachers, who have been in need of a transfer system for some time. The Ministry of Education's efforts to introduce this system are commendable, and this move is expected to benefit teachers across the country.
