Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), Satkhira Circle has organised a training workshop to increase the professional skills and awareness of professional motorists in building a smart Bangladesh and reducing road accidents.
The training workshop was held at City College in Satkhira town on Tuesday morning with the theme “"Follow the law, build a smart Bangladesh".
BRTA Satkhira Circle Assistant Director (Eng) KM Mahabub Kabir presided over the event while Satkhira Civil Surgeon representative Medical Officer Dr Jayanto Kumar, Traffic Police Inspector Md Sahabuddin and motor vehicle inspector Sajib Sarkar were present as guests.
Addressing the training workshop, the speakers called upon the professional drivers not to drive cars with sleepy eyes on the road, not to overtake with too much confidence and not to drive for more than 8 hours continuously.
They urged the drivers to follow the traffic laws, not to carry extra passengers and goods and not to use mobile phones while driving.
They also called upon the drivers not to drive at excessive speed and not to drive without valid documents and driving licence.
The speakers also urged them to check fuel, mileage and brakes before driving.
They said necessary legal measures will be taken to ensure that illegal vehicles, including Nasiman and Kariman, cannot ply on the highway.
Sheikh Mamun Al Hasan Ullah of BRTA Satkhira Circle was also present on the occasion.
The entire programme was conducted by Sajib Sarkar, motor vehicle inspector, BRTA Satkhira Circle. A total of 92 professional drivers of different categories participated in the training workshop.
