A two-day basic training on "Child Drowning" for the working journalists began in Netrakona on Saturday.
Society for Media and Suitable Human-Communication Techniques (SoMaSHTe) in cooperation with Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI) organised the programme at the conference room of Netrakona district press club.
The training programme was arranged aiming at sensitizing journalists to continue media campaign for preventing child drowning, organisers told BSS.
Deputy Commissioner of Netrakona Anjana Khan Majlish formally inaugurated the programme calling upon the journalists to create mass awareness through projecting media reports for averting child drowning.
A total of 20 newsmen from different media outlets, both print and electronics and agencies are taking part in the training workshop.
