A day-long training on scientific separation of hide of sacrificial animals was concluded in Jhenaidah on Tuesday. Jhenaidah deputy director’s office organized the training course at Juba Bhaban for the imams, moazzins and lillah boarding heads.
Presided over by deputy director Reazul Alam Khan, deputy commissioner (DC) Saroj Kumar Nath attended as chief guest. District livestock officer (DLO) Anonda Kumar Adhikary and deputy director of the Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) in Jhenidah Abdul Hamid Khan attended as special guests.
Deputy Commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath admitting the least price of animal hides said the government had re-fixed the price of the hides for both rural and urban areas so that the farmers could not be cheated by dishonest traders engaged in hide purchasing.
He said as the hides are one of the most important substances to meet out national demand for making shoes as well as sources of earning foreign currency every year, it should be separated in scientific method so that the quality hide could ensure adequate price for its potential.
The chief guest urged the imams and muazzins who would be involved in the activities should take care for the national interest. Deputy Commissioner said if someone cheats the common people during purchasing the hides of sacrificed animals, they might be brought to book next course of action.
