Under the Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Development Project, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, ICT Division organized an awareness training program on environmental and social protection at Chittagong University (CU) Innovation Hub.
It was held in the conference room of the CU Vice-Chancellor's office on Thursday morning. Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar was present as chief guest in the training program and CU Pro VC (Academic) Professor Benu Kumar Dey was present as special guest. Abul Fateh Md. Baligur Rahman, Project Director of Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Development Project of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority presided over the event. The project's environmental protection expert Dr. Mohammad Billal Hossain and project consultant social security expert Nazrul Islam provided training.
CU Vice-Chancellor said that along with academic education in Chittagong University campus, the university is moving forward in developing physical infrastructure. All the officers and employees of the contractor who are engaged in these activities must ensure their own safety by using the necessary safety equipment. At the same time care should be taken to avoid any damage to the environment. In this regard, the related engineers and officials of the university engineering department along with the contracting institutions should be more aware.
The workshop was attended by the officers and workers of the contractors working on various CU projects and the engineers, officers and employees of the CU Engineering Department.
