Training held on co-operative methods for SEEDS workers in Dewanganj

Self-reliant groups (SRGs) formed with the support of the SEEDS program of Unyan Sangha, with the aim of building a strong civil society through sustainable development and for the purpose of improving the skills of SEEDS workers, day-long training on cooperative system and financial management of registered groups was held in Dewanganj.  

The district cooperative officer was present as the main negotiator.  Tajul Islam Executive Director of Development Association.  

Bakshiganj Upazila Cooperative Officer Md participated in the discussion held under the chairmanship of Rafiqul Alam Molla.  

Abdul Jalil, Islampur Upazila Cooperative Officer Milan Kanti Saha, Senior Coordinator (Economic Inclusion) Chandan Kumar Sarkar at Stormy Foundation.  Jahangir Salim, Director of Human Resources Development of the Development Association conducted the program. 20 workers from all stages of the SEEDS program participated in the training.  

District Cooperative Officer Tajul Islam discussed analytically by presenting information about strategies, methods, financial management, selection procedures, program acceptance and implementation for the management of intensive and cooperative societies.  

He highlighted several living examples of enviable development through cooperatives. He highlighted the development and progress strategies of several cooperative societies in the country that set the example Registered societies can also create bright roles.  

He assured that the cooperative officials and inspectors will give full cooperation at the field level. 

Every team formed with the support of the Socio-Economic Empowerment (SEEDS) program with the dignity and sustainability being implemented by the development association with the help of Norway-based donor organization Stromi Foundation will be brought under the registration of the Directorate of Cooperatives, according to the training source.  known  Under the mentioned SEEDS program, all the 42 ward committees in three upazilas were registered in stages and all the workers expressed their commitment to train the groups to keep them motivated in the ideals of cooperatives. 

Keeping the ideals of 'Bangabandhu's philosophy, development in cooperatives' in mind, as the oldest and traditional registration authority in the country, Directorate of Cooperatives is like other districts of the country.  It has been implementing multi-dimensional development programs for the development of Jamalpur.  92 thousand 529 male and female members are playing a role in creating self-employment through 1 thousand 339 cooperative societies in Jamalpur.
