A mobile court sentenced a man to six months in jail on charges of train ticket black-marketing at Rangpur railway station platform in Rangpur city on Tuesday night. At the same time, the mobile court fined him Taka 10,000, in default, to suffer one more month imprisonment. Officials said the convict is Firoz Ahmed of Alamnagar station area in Rangpur city.
He had been black-marketing train tickets in guise of running his shop 'Naksha Fastfood' at Rangpur railway station platform for a long time. Led by Assistant Commissioner of Rangpur district administration and Executive Magistrate Farhan Labib Jisan, the mobile court conducted a raid there on the basis of complaints received from common people.
"We have received complaints from many people about black-marketing of train tickets by the convict in guise of running the fast-food shop at the rail station platform," the executive magistrate told reporters on the spot.
Such drives will continue and strict actions would be taken against those involved in black-marketing of train tickets, he added.
