A truck driver was injured when a train hits a truck at Amtoli near Shibganj rail station in Thakurgaon sadar upazila on Sunday.
Akhtarul Islam, Thakurgaon Road Rail Station Master, said that the ‘Panchagarh Express’ inter-city train hit the truck when it tried to cross the rail tracks around 1:40 pm, leaving truck driver Sohel Rana, 45, son of Solaiman Ali of Sadar upazila, injured.
The train dragged the truck several kilometers after it got smashed.
Rail communication between Dhaka and Thakurgaon remained suspended following the accident.
Police are trying to remove the truck from the rail track, said
officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Kamal Hossain.
