Trailer of Raihan Rafi’s ‘Damal’ released

The trailer of director Raihan Rafi’s upcoming film titled ‘Damal’ released on Tuesday Aug 16, starring popular actress Bidya Sinha Saha Mim, Sariful Islam Razz, Siam Ahmed and Shahnaz Sumi in the lead roles.

The film based on true events inspired by Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Impress Telefilm Ltd and Channel I. The trailer of film shows the story of two football teams from different eras, the legendary Shadhin Bangla Football Team and a similar team from the present times. 

The story of the film showcased an independent Bengali football team formed in June 1971 during the liberation war, who played a total of 16 matches in different locations, earning a total of Tk 5 lakh at that time which was spent on freedom fighters.

Recently, the film has received censor certificate from by Bangladesh Film Censor Board (BFCB). A special screening of the film was also held for the censor board and it was passed with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) on August 8. The film produced under Impress Telefilm and the film’s director Raihan Rafi and famous Bangladeshi author Nazim Ud Daula have paired up for its screenplay. 

Apart from Razz, Mim, Siam and Sumi this star-studded film also includes Saeed Babu, Rashed Mamun Apu, Sumit, Puja, Brishti, Othoi, Nazmus Saqib, and many others in various roles.

The trailer has already created buzz with its cinematography, sound, and phenomenal cast. It has also showed the barbaric acts of West Pakistani soldiers and the agony of East Pakistani commoners. Apart from this, many unknown stories will be seen as well. 

It is learnt that the big budget film has been completed through continuous shooting in various locations of Sayedpur, Rangpur in North Bengal. The film will hit the theatres on October 28.
