Trafficker held, 3 women rescued

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-4 detained a human trafficker by conducting a drive at Aminbazar area in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, on Tuesday night. The RAB also rescued three youth victims during the drive.

Unu Mong, Sr. assistant police superintendent of RAB-4, led the drive and confirmed the matter to the Bangladesh Post.

The detainee was identified as Shirazul Islam Shiraz, 42, hailed from Jassore district. On other hand, the rescued victims are Lima Akter, 22, Priyangka, 29, and Taslima Akter Anni, 27, and all are hailed from Aminbazar area of Savar. 

Unu Mong said that on secret information that a syndicate of human traffickers constantly trafficking women in temptation of good employment and brightest future for at least two years long, the RAB detained the trafficker red handed on Tuesday night along with three victims.

“After detained the main traffickers of this syndicate, we tried to know where they trafficked the girls, but he did not admitted the detail information to us yet. So far, we got to know that, they trafficked in several places in India,” Unu Mong added.

The detainee was handed over to police and a case has been filed with Savar model police station in this connection, he added.
