Permanent traffic police services was introduced at Shailkupa municipal town on Saturday. The service was inaugurated as per the direction of the superintendent of police (SP) Muntasirul Islam to ease the congestions round the week. District traffic inspector Kazi Salahuddin said people of Shailkupa had been demanding permanent solution of the traffic congestions. It was most risky to move any vehicle, even ambulances and fire fighters in any emergency period through Shailkupa Chowrasta, Kabirpur Tinrasta, Hospital gate and some other parts of the town.
Jhenidah SP Muntasirul Islam when contacted said considering the situation, the district police administration had introduced traffic system which will serve from 9.00 am to 5pm every day. It will help reduce the severe traffic congestions on weekly market days on Saturday and Tuesday.
The district police head said two police men will render their services at a regular basis and identify the problems. They will take actions in books against the law breakers. Local people were requested to render their all-out cooperation to serve the people, the SP said.
