A young clothing trader was brutally hacked to death in Hajipur area of Narsingdi town on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred around 10:30 AM on Wednesday in front of Madina Workshop at Faruk Molla’s intersection in Hajipur.
The victim Mozammel, 23, son of Chan Mia from Ballavpur village under Char Subuddhi union of Raipura upazila, was residing in a rented house in Hajipur. He operated a clothing business on C & B Road in Narsingdi town.
According to police and locals, Mozammel was standing in front of the workshop in the morning. At that time, a man named Kawsar allegedly attacked him from behind with a machete, striking his neck.
Mozammel fell to the ground critically injured. Locals rushed him to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
Narsingdi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Emdadul Haque said that on information, they visited the scene.
The body has been kept at Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal action is under process in the incident.
