Taking the opportunity of shortages of date juice supply, many dishonest gur makers and traders were now engaged in preparing adulterated molasses in Gurudaspur upazila of Natore.
A mobile court formed under the supervision of Executive Magistrate and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tamal Hossain conducted raid in an adulterated gur making factory and watched date juice was being prepared in an unhygienic environment by using toxic chemicals at Chanchkair Puran Para on Monday night.
Camp commander of RAB-5, CPC-2 Natore Camp Company Commander SSP SM Jamil Ahmed and SSP Md Rajibul Ahsan were also present during the raid.
Executive Magistrate arrived at the scene and through the mobile court awarded the owner of the factory Ashad Sonar Tk 100,000 fine.
