President Md. Abdul Hamid said trade and investment is the main component of socio-economic development of the country.
President made the remarks while exchanging views with the delegation of International Chamber of Commerce-Bangladesh (ICCB), as the leaders of the body called on President at Bangabhaban last week.
He praised the role of Chambers including ICCB for promoting trade and investment at home and abroad.
President Abdul Hamid urged the Chamber leaders to create new entrepreneurs and to explore new business sector.
The 7 Member ICCB delegation include Executive Board Members of the body, A.K. Azad, Aftab ul Islam, Mir Nasir Hossain, Anwar-Ul-Alam Chowdhury (Parvez), Md. Fazlul Hoque and ICC Bangladesh Secretary General Ataur Rahman.
ICCB president briefed Hon’ble President regarding activities of ICC Bangladesh and also the forthcoming Asia-Pacific Conference on Financing inclusive and Sustainable Development to be held on 10-12 December 2019. The conference will focus on Exploring A New Financial Landscape for Asia and the Pacific. Mr. Rahman also mentioned that this year ICC is having Centenary Celebration and Silver Jubilee celebration of International Chamber of Commerce-Bangladesh.
