The month-long trade fair, which is going on at Mosleh Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Narsingdi town, drew a huge number of visitors. Narsingdi district Chamber of Commerce and Industry orgnaised the fair.
Over 100 stalls were set up from different private and government organisations in the fair displaying different local traditional products to encourage people to use the local products. The fair will remain open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm everyday till February 12

Deputy Commissioner of Narsingdi Syeda Farhana Kawnine and Superintendent of Police Pralay Kumar Joarder inaugurated the fair on January 12 with much enthusiasm. President, Narsingdi Chamber of Commerce and Industries Ali Hossain Shishir presided over the inaugural function. The fair has been designed to promote and popularize traditional and historical locally produced clothes, handloom and cottage industrial goods including leather products, jute-made products, design and fashion wares and other products.
The organizers of the fair are happy that sales at the fair are very satisfactory as long the expected sales. Prices of locally produced Benarashi and Jamdani Sarees, Lungis, girl’s three pieces, bed sheet, other cloths and other things were displayed in the fair at very reasonable prices.
Tasnim Anam Riasa, a student of Dhaka University who bought a three piece at Tk 1500, said that this type of fair would popularize once and would help to lift up the economic condition of weavers and encouraging the practice and hopes of local artisans.
