The local administration in Bandarban has temporarily discouraged tourists from travelling to Debotakhum in Rowangchhari Upazila due to the risk of landslides.
A notification signed by Rowangchhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Saiful Islam confirmed the matter on Wednesday.
Tourists are discouraged from traveling to Debotakhum from June 18 to June 25. No travel ban has been issued, said the notice.
The notice said that heavy rains over the past few days have caused water flow in rivers and creeks, dangerously and there is a risk of landslides in the area.
Local representatives said that, the temporary decision was taken considering the safety of tourists.
