A tourist named Rajib Hossain (23) died after falling from a boat while going for a walk in Nikli's Haor. The incident took place at Kursha Haor in Nikli upazila sadar on Thursday (July 22).
Nikli Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shamsul Alam Siddiqui has confirmed the incident. Rajib is the son of Kajal Miah of Simbagh village in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi district.
According to the police, Rajib came to visit Haor with that friend. He was traveling in a motor boat with his friends when he got out of the boat at 3:30 pm on Thursday and reached the foothills of Haor.
After the locals rescued him and took him to Nikli upazila Hospital, the doctor declared him dead.
