State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbubn Ali today urged the people’s representatives and government officials to include tourism facilities while planning and implementing local development projects in their respective areas, reports BSS.
“It’s possible to develop new tourism attractions across the country, if we consider tourism aspect during various development projects as well as constructing different establishments,” he told a virtual workshop with different local tourism stakeholders of Jaypurhat district.
Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) organized the workshop as part of its ongoing initiative to hold such event for each of 64 district involving local stakeholders for ensuring participation of all in formulation of ‘Tourism Master Plan’.
The states minister said all local stakeholders must be involved and work together to aware the grassroots people about tourism potentials of their respective areas for realizing true development of the country’s tourism sector.
Different officials and representative of Jaypurhat district including administration, police, civil surgeon, public works, forest department, council, tourism committee, upazila, union as well as local tour operators, hotel, resort, restaurants and transport owners, travel agents, teachers and journalists participated today’s workshops. BTB’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jabed Ahmed also spoke at the workshop moderated and chaired by BTB’s director Abu Taher Mohammad Zaber and Jaypurhatd deputy district commissioner M Shariful Islam respectively.
