The Kabi Nazrul Institute is organizing the first-ever large-scale Nazrul concert featuring the country’s top ten bands. This special event will take place on May 30 at Manik Mia Avenue to mark the release of a unique album dedicated to the music of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

The album includes ten motivational Nazrul songs performed by leading bands such as Warfaze, Souls, Dalchhut, Ark, Shironamhin, Different Touch, MNB, Rebel, Black, and F Minor. These bands will also perform additional popular songs by Nazrul during the concert.

Latiful Islam Shibli, Executive Director of the Kazi Nazrul Institute, told Prothom Alo that the album and concert have been his priority since taking charge of the institute. He said the project is supported by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and aims to highlight Nazrul’s music as a source of inspiration for the nation’s journey toward equality.

The album features ten classic Nazrul songs, including “Karar Oi Louho-Kopat,” “Tora Shob Joyodhwoni Kor,” “Jago Onoshon Bondi,” “O Bhai Khati Shonar Cheye Khati,” and “Joy Hok Joy Hok.” All songs have been carefully arranged to preserve the original lyrics, composition, and notation. The project was guided by noted Nazrul Sangeet expert Yakub Ali Khan to ensure authenticity.

The concert will begin at 5 pm and will be free to attend. It will be inaugurated by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Adviser to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The Kazi Nazrul Institute will also release the album tracks on its official website and social media channels for wider access.

This event promises to bring Nazrul’s powerful music to a new generation, combining traditional poetry with modern band sounds in a grand celebration of the National Poet’s legacy.
