Tk 5 cr grant for religious, tech education

The government has allocated Tk 5 crore for 300 madrasas, technical educational institutions and 8,036 teachers and students.

The grant money will be disbursed from the Technical and Madrasa Education Division (TMED), under the Ministry of Education, through the Postal Department mobile financial service ‘Nagad’. A list has been published to the TMED website regarding this on Thursday.

As per the list, there are 300 madrasas and technical education institutes, 500 teachers and staff, 1250 students of the first to fifth grader Ibtedayi will be given the money. In addition, 4501students of sixth to tenth graders from Dakhil and vocational branch, 1250 students of Alim or BM or Diploma and 535 Kamil-Fajil students or in higher class will receive the money.

These 300 institutes will get Tk 25,000 each while 500 teachers and employees to get Tk 10,000. A total of 1,250 students ofIbtedayi will be given Tk 3,000 each whereas 4,501 students of 6th to 10th grade studying Dakhil and in vocationaleducation will be given Tk 5,000 each. Students of Alim-BM-Diploma will receive Tk 6,000 each and 535 students including Kamil-Fazil and in higher grade will be given Tk 7,000 each.

The Ministry of Education says the money will be distributed through ‘Nagad’ according to the list of nominated educational institutions, teachers-staff and students. The detailed report will be submitted to the Ministry at the end of distribution. The money allocated in favor of the educational institutions will be sent to the respective bank accounts.

Earlier on last June 30, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) under the Ministry of Education released a grant of Tk 6 crore for schools, colleges, teachers and students. 

Among the grant recipients are: 120 educational institutions, 200 teachers and staff, 1838 students from 6th to 8th graders, 1312 students from 9th to 10th class, 933 students from 11th and 12th classes and 840 students from graduation and higher level.
