Chattogram district administration rescued government VP property through evicting illegal establishments worth Tk 3 crore in Chawkbazar in the port city. The district administration evicted Probaha coaching center.
In the eviction drive conducted by Chattogram district administration from 11 am to 4:30 pm on Thursday, the VP Property located opposite the post office on Nawab Sirajuddaular Road in Chawkbazar area of Chattogramcity was evicted.
The evacuation operation was conducted by Md Tauhidul Islam, NDC Senior Assistant Commissioner of Chattogram District Administration.
Police team of CMP, Chowkbazar Thana team, PDB and Karnaphuli Gas Distribution assisted in the operation.
Based on VP Case No. 24/65-66, 9 (nine) percent of plot No. 629 of Imamganj Mauza BS 193 was leased to Azizur Rahman Islamic Students Research Institute. But on the surface the lessee was violating the terms of the lease and was helping a commercial organization called Probaha Coaching Center to run the coaching business.
There was a furniture shop in the name of the research institute along with the coaching center.
The VP lease was earlier terminated for breach of lease terms. Probaha Coaching Center was being operated here for more than 8 years by illegally occupying the vested (VP) property. A bustling coaching business was being conducted in ten rooms.
After the evacuation operation, all the belongings of the coaching center were removed.
About 250 tables-benches, 8 ACs, 2 fridges, almirahs and belongings related to the coaching center have been explained to Accounts Officer of Probaha Coaching Center Anwar Hossain. The documents of Probaha Coaching Center are found in the vicinity of the main owner of the coaching center Hossain Al Hashem Md Jabed at Dhemsha Union of Satkania.
A shop along with the coaching center has been evacuated. 10.54 century government land worth about 3 crore taka was recovered during the eviction operation. The recovered property has been explained to the representative of VP branch of district administration by Executive Magistrate Md Tauhidul Islam.
