A student of Government Titumir College was killed as a truck hit his motorcycle on Kuril Flyover in the capital on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Tamin. He was studying in Honors 4th year and was a member of Titumir College Journalists Association.
Tamim's friend Miqdad was seriously injured in the accident. He was rescued and admitted to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation.
Titumir College Journalists Association General Secretary Shahadat Hossain Nishad confirmed the matter and said that Tamim was returning home after work. On the way, a truck hit their motorcycle from behind. They fell down on the spot. Later, when they were rescued and taken to the hospital, the doctor declared Tamim dead.
Tamim's classmate Sohag Mahmud said that Tamim went to Khilkhet on a motorcycle with his friend Miqdad for personal work. On their way back home after work, a truck coming from behind hit their motorcycle while getting down from Kuril flyover and ran away. At that time, Tamim was crushed under the wheels of the truck.
