The Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC is actively engaged in a campaign to address and eliminate illegal gas usage.
As a part of the regular operation on June 2, a drive was conducted in Ahmed Plaza, adjacent to Kaliakair Bus Stand, Gazipur area under the jurisdiction of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC, Ashulia, said a press release.
Approximately 74 illegal residential gas burners belonging to various customers were disconnected during the operation.
During the operation, approximately 74 illegal residential gas burners of various customers were disconnected. Approximately 15 feet of pipe line was cut and 4 (four) regulators were removed and seized. In addition, the leakage in the 2-inch distribution line in the Jamtala Mouchak area has been repaired using a 2-inch leak clamp.
On the same day, a drive was conducted in Mirzapur, Bangla Bazar Road, Rajendrapur, Gazipur (an industrial establishment called Decor Wet Processing) and Rajendrapur Cantonment, Gazipur under the Regional Sales Department – Joydevpur.
During the operation, 2 spots of an industrial establishment called Decor Wet Processing, including 1 residential connection, were disconnected along with industrial and generator runs. During this time, approximately 110 meters of line pipes of various diameters were removed and seized.
Besides, approximately 20 residential double-burner stoves have been disconnected in the Rajendrapur Cantonment area.
In addition, a drive has been conducted in the areas of Akran Chowrasta, Dharenda, Rajashan, Savar under the jurisdiction of the Regional Sales Department – Savar. During the operation, approximately 41 illegal residential gas burners of various customers were disconnected at 1 spot. It has prevented a monthly loss of 80,154/- taka.
At another spot, about 40 feet of 1" service pipe of an illegal gas connection identified at a commercial coil factory called Atik Enterprise was being removed: It has been cut off from the source point for the 4th time.This has prevented a monthly loss of 45,293/- taka.
