Tipu for standing by people amid pandemic

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi urged the leaders and workers of the Bangladesh Awami League to stand beside the people affected by Covid-19.

The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a function to distribute clothes, masks and foods among the ultra-poor men and women in the hall room of Deuti School and College in Pirgachha Upazila under the Rangpur district, said a release on Wednesday. “Many people have been affected by the Covid-19. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working day and night for the people of the country. She instructed to stand by the affected and distressed people,” he said.

Now, Tipu said, it is the responsibility of the leaders and workers of Bangladesh Awami League to stand by the side of the affected, miserable and helpless people in Corona.

Hygiene rules must be strictly followed to prevent the spread of Corona epidemic, he added.

He said imams in mosques also have a duty to make the public aware and everyone needs to know the horrors of corona and the way to stay safe.

Among others, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Samsul Arefeen and District Awami League Member Kamruzzaman Chowdhury Tuhin were present on the occasion.
