Tigresses win T-20 series against Pakistan

Bangladesh women won T-20 series over Pakistan women for the first time. Nigar Sultana Jyoti's team defeated the visitors by 20 runs in the second T-20 at the Shahid Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Friday. 

Batting earlier, the Tigresses got a challenging score 120 runs for 6 at the end of the scheduled over. In response, Pakistan stopped at 100 runs. Bismah Maruf scored the maximum 30 runs for them. Nahida Akhtar and Rabeya Khan each bagged two wickets each for the Red and Green. 

Pakistan was on the backfoot from the start of run chase. Tigress pacer Marufa Akhtar bowled the opener Natalia Parvez for only 3 runs of the team. After that, opener Sidra Amin caught Rabeya Khan's whirlwind for a personal 9 runs. Later, Muniba Ali and captain Nida Dar also returned within a short time.

Nida was bowled by Rabeya and Muniba was trapped by Sobhana Mostari's run out. However, Pakistan's experienced middle-order batsman Bismah was playing at one end. But he could not stand seeing the coming and going of his teammates. Bismah was caught by wicketkeeper Jyoti for 30 off Fahima Khatun. In the end, Iram Javed and Umm Hani tried for a while but the visitors could not avoid defeat. Eram 15 and Umm Hani scored 14 runs.

Nahida Akhtar and Rabeya Khan took two wickets each for Bangladesh. Apart from this, Marufa and Fahima Khatun took one wicket each.

Earlier, Jyoti's team won the first match against the visitors by 5 wickets. Pakistan girls started fielding after winning the toss at the beginning of the day. On the other hand, the two Tigress openers started well. However, Shamima Sultana returned with 18 individual runs after the team's 34 runs. Then Murshida Khatun continued to fight with Sobhana Mostari. However, their pairing did not last long. Sobhana returned with 16 runs after 54 runs.

Murshidao could not last long after losing his partner, he went back and scored 20 runs. After losing 3 wickets for 67 runs, Bangladesh also lost captain Jyoti for 71 runs. A total of 10 runs came from his bat that day. Then Swarna Akhter and Ritu Moni led the team. Tigresses started dreaming of big capital with the bat of these two batters.

The pair of Swarna-Ritu broke for 38 runs. Ritu returned with 19 runs. However, Swarna left the field unbeaten on 27 runs until the last ball of the innings. After losing 6 wickets at the end of scheduled over, Bangladesh's collection stands at 120 runs.
