Tigresses need better batting

It was not unexpected that Bangladesh national women cricket team would suffer defeat to the strongest side in women’s cricket Australia.

But the performances of Bangladesh women team were highly frustrated as they were batting in the first two matches of the three-match ODI series.

No batter could score 30 runs in the two matches. No fifty came from any of the batters. It is a big surprise that eight batters could not reach  the double figures in both the previous two matches. So, it was quite possible to win against the seven-time champions Australia and also tough to throw challenge to the Aussies.

Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultan Joty might be deserves some credits, considering her recent performances. But the way she was run out in the first ODI was a like a great offense. She scored 27 runs in the first ODI. The skipper managed one run in the second match. She could not perform in both the matches and also failed to guide the team properly.

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper cum batter Shamima Sultana was not included in the team due to illness. The team suffer due to her absent. She can use power play properly. So, there are huge lacking in this team.

Fargana Hoque, who is one of the dependable batter for the team, her performances in the two matches was very frustrated. She could not open her account in the first match and managed only seven-run in the second ODI. The team highly expect a big score from the right hand opening batter who has two centuries in her 64 ODI career.

There was a big chance for right hand batter Sobhana Mostary in absence of  Shamima Sultana to prove her. But she also failed to show her performance in the ongoing series when seven and three runs came from her willow in two matches.

One down batter Murshida Khatun, middle orders Ritu Moni, Fahima Khatun all are more experienced, the team demand big score from them.

Meanwhile, the pitch was not suitable for the batting but it should be remembered that Bangladeshi batters are used to play on this type of wickets. So, there is no way to excuse of the wicket.
