The only tigress of Rangpur zoo has been reportedly died due to cold weather on Friday. The chilling cold has been dominating in the area for last few days.
However, the tigress, Shawon, died due to old-age complexities, zoo authorities said. The age of the tigress was 17 years and five months.
Sources said that Shawon and another tiger were brought to this zoo from the National Zoo when they were cubs. The tiger died around 10-12 years ago. Then Shawon was living alone.
The tigress was buried after an autopsy on Saturday.
