Tigers are under huge threat of suffering the whitewash to the visitors Afghanistan after the blow of 2-0 series deficit when they will play third and last ODI at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram today.
Tigers, who left their position far too after losing first two ODIs, eagerly in heat of battle with moral just to save the whitewash and as such there is no way out but to win this match into the teeth of 2-0 series deficit of the three-match series.
Right now, the entire unit is like under siege in the case of Tamim’s shocking decision of extraction, for the Tigers now there is no options but to jump from all quarters for winning and it’s not hard to imagine that they would want it at any way.
And so on, Tigers required for fighting at their level best for the self-evident following the humiliation in the last two matches to turn their focus to the task of winning. Tigers also leaving behind the disastrous of last two matches vowed to come out to fire from cylinders.
Tiger's batters are, for the most part, in form and focus, with Naim Sheikh, Liton Das, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Afif Hossain, Towhid Hridoy and Mushfiqur Rahim are immoveable at the top order when Shakib Al Hassan and Mehidy Hassan Miraz proving intermittently effective at the late.
Apart from the veterans Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim, none could show the glimpses of their true selves amid slow starts to the innings.
In fact, none of the batters could appear with their courages as they should be against the bowling attacks of Rashid, Nabi and Farooqi.
Specially, Litton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto, both of them scored huge runs recently, struggled much facing Afghan bolwers.
On the onter hands, Afghan batters amid attacking approach from Rahmanullah Gurvaz and slow but steady inning from Ibrahim Zadran won the second ODI so far. They were turn off from their script than they are required to by the ferocity until facing the last ball.
But both the hosts Bangaldesh and the visiotrs Afghan certainly know that today there would be a different ball game and truly an extraordinary the battle. But stunning show of from either bowlers or the bowlers will be able to win, other then there will no reason to believe that Tigers could avoid the whitewash.
Bangaldesh pace troop will miss Ebadot Hossain, as he was ruled out for injury he had during the last match. Knee injury knocked, Ebadot out of the entire Afghanistan series including the three-match T20 series will take place in Sylhet.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh began the series with a 17-run defeat on DLS in a rain interrupted first match and suffered a huniliating 142-run, their largest margin defeat by runs against Afghanistan.
Bangaldesh, who lost their only third series at home since 2015 when world champions England beat twice in this period when last time Bangladesh lost all of the matches of the ODI series at home was back in 2012 against Pakistan. Later in 2014, they also suffered a 2-0 defeat to India in three-match series.
