Ahead to start the series Tigers saw some setback with injury hitting the squad as pacer Shohidul Islam was ruled out prior to the team’s departure for the tour when batter Yasir Ali was forced to leave for the country from Antigua with a back injury and all-rounder Shafi Uddin was also pulled out as he yet to regain enough fitness.

But only good news is Taskin Ahmed returned to international circuit after getting rid of the injury he received in South Africa tour in April when Mehdy Hassan Hassan Miraz also drafted in the T20 squad. But the spinner out of action in T20 cricket for four years (since 2018), though he has been regular in Test cricket and also played both the matches of two-match series in West Indies.

Tigers also have some pleasant moments of their series winning in West Indies that could be huge inspiration for them, now they need determination and courage to recollect their pleasing memories.

Tigers have been considered as one of the well enough strong sides to throw challenges to any of the giants and Tigers also justified their ability in deferent occasions overwhelming powerhouses of the world cricket.

Tigers won against West Indies in their home in 2018 when Bangladesh clinched the series by 2-1.

That time, Liton Das blitzed with smacking 62 runs off 32 balls, Mahmudullah hit 32 off 20 balls when Mustafiz picked up three wickets in the series deciding third match of three-match series.

It is very much inspiring that all three match wining performers are in the team, though another dependable member Mushfiqur Rahim is not available, who in fact not with the team in the West Indies series from the beginning as he is  on leave to perform Hadj.

Some of their previous heroic victories over the stronger opponents might the inspiration for the Tigers in the T20 series.

But the recent records of five series in their T20 matches are not inspirational which could boost up the Tigers when in November 2021 Bangladesh could not win any match of the three-match series against Pakistan as they suffered 3-0 defeat and in March against Afghanistan just managed to draw the two-match series by1-1.

On the other hands, the scenario of West Indies just similar to Bangladesh regarding their recent two T20 series they played.

West Indies out of their last five T20 matches, two-match series against England and three-match series against India, could win only one match.

They won one match to draw the two-match series against England and suffered defeat in all three matches in the three-match series against India, as Bangladesh went down to Pakistan.
