A total of four matches have been washed out due to rain so far, in the 12th edition of ICC Cricket World Cup. Team Bangladesh are also a victim of rain as many believe they were the clear favourites in the match against Sri Lanka that was abandoned due to rain. Tigers are now looking to put that behind and are gearing up to face West Indies in their fifth World Cup match on Monday in Taunton, but the forecasted weather in Taunton on Monday says, it is likely to rain.
Amid that fear Bangladesh team are preparing themselves for the upcoming match, with sheer focus and hard work in training sessions. They are trying to shift out the scare of another wash out game with concentration and determination in practice. The small size Taunton ground is another worry for the Bangladeshi bowlers as they will be pitted against West Indies power-hitters like opener Chris Gayle and all-rounder Andre Russell.
However, bowling coach Courtney Walsh said, they have plans and ideas to restrict these two bashers. With consistent rain during last week in Taunton, the pitch will be a bit of a mystery as well.
Tigers playing roster would depend on the nature of the wicket. At the end of three matches, each of Bangladesh’s pacers in skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mustafizur Rahman and Mohammad Saifuddin have been expensive and conceded runs. Therefore, Rubel Hossain’s inclusion in the match against Windies is imminent. In the last match that took place in Taunton, Both Australia and Pakistan took one extra pacer, keeping the weather and short ground in mind. There should have been discussions in that regard during Tigers’ training sessions.
