Tiger’s carcass found in Sundarbans

Carcass of a tigher was found in East side of the Sundarbans. Forest officers found body of the tiger floating in a canal in the deep forest area of Kochikhali Reserve Forest in Sarankhola Range on Monday noon. They recovered the carcass and brought it to Kochikhali Station. 

Sarankhola Animal Resource Officer Dr Mosaher Hossain and Morelganj Animal resource Officer Dr Md Yunus Ali have conducted the postmortem at Dumur Petrol Fari area of Sarnkhola Range.

In this regard Dr Mosaher Hossain said that they are thinking that it was a natural death. He further said that the tighter was nine-foot long, weight 225 kgs and over 14 years old. It may have died of old age complications. But the cause will be ascertained after getting the postmortem report.  

Dr Mosaher Hossain said the report was sent to the Forest Department.  The organs of the have been sent to park in Chadpai Range of Mongla Koramjol Area for preservation.

Khulan Area Forest Preserver (CF) Mihir Kumar Do said the tiger was found floating a canal of Kochikhlai Range. The postmourtem report will be sent to Dhaka Forensic Lab.  After the forensic report the cause of the death will clear.
