Thrust on action plan to make nutritional activities fruitful

Speakers at a function here Wednesday said that adopting action plan regarding nutrition is very crucial to make the nutritional activities fruitful. 

“It is not possible to run the nutritional activities smoothly until taking need base action plan in line with present time. Formulation of action plan can help the implement of nutritional activities successfully and ensure nutrition for all in the days to come”, they also said while addressing a function on the Formulation of Nutrition Working Plan and Monitoring Affairs Training at a hotel in Gaibandha. 

Sustained Opportunity for Nutrition Governance (SONGO) project which is being implemented in Gaibandha and Kurigram districts by RDRS Bangladesh and Cordaid Netherlands arranged the function with the financial support of European Union.

Acting Director General (DG) of Bangladesh National Nutrition Council (BNNC) Dr Zubaida Nasrin addressed the function as chief guest and deputy director of the BNCC Md. Akhter Imam spoke at the function as special guest. Civil Surgeon of Gaibandha Dr. Abdullahel Mafi presided over the function.

Deputy Director of the department of Agricultural Extension Khorsed Alam Sarker also spoke at the function, among others.

Earlier, a presentation on overall activities project of SONGO Project was done by nutrition governance adviser of SONGO Moniruzzaman Mukul. 

A series of recommendations regarding the nutrition were also adopted during the open discussion session of the function.

Acting DG of the BNNC Dr. Zubaida Nasrin in her concluding speech urged all to be more serious and to increase the indicators regarding nutrition to attain the cherished goals of BNNC and build nutrition enriched Smart Bangladesh by-2041 envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Almost all the members of district nutrition co-ordination committee and project officials participated in the function.
