Abahani Limited, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Legend of Rupganj have already qualified to play in the top six in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League Cricket but rest of the three teams of the top six yet to be confirmed.

Abahani Limited and Sheikh Jamal conformed their places in the top six after winning as many eight matches off their nine outings when Abahani (1.746) clinched the top spot of the points table after ninth round leaving behind Jamal (1.043) in net run rate.

Meanwhile, led by Mashrafe bin Mortaza, Legend of Rupganj moved into the top six as third team after winning seven off their nine matches.

There would be a hard contest for the rest of three places of the top six, when Prime Bank, the team of Tamim Iqbal, Mohammed Mithun and Mushfiqur Rahim obtaining 12 points are ahead of Gazi Group and Mohammedan Sporting Club, who collected nine points each but Rupganj Tigers are closely following them with seven points.

So there would be a close contest among Gazi Group and Mohammedan Sporting Club for one place when there is no chances left for Brothers Union, City Club and Agrani Bank to play in the top six, all 12 teams left two matches each to play.

As three teams of the bottom side of the table - Brothers, City Club and Agrani Bank earned six points each, if they would win their next two matches could accumulate 10 points, but not enough to play in the top six.

The Prime Prime Bank, Gazi Group, Mohammedan and Rupganj Tigers will fight to be the one off three to qualify in the top six.

In this respect, comprised by national figures like Shakib Al hassan, Mahmudullah Riyad, Imrul Kayes, Rony Talukder, and Shuvagotohome, Mohammedan and Gazi Group, who have also some match winners have bright chance to move ahead with winning their rest of the two matches obtaining 11 points, even if they would win one match each, it would be tough for their closest contenders to overtake them.

It looked Mohammedan will have easy opponents in their next matches when they have left the matches against Shinepukur Cricket Club and Dhaka Leopards, who could only two and one match respectively out of their nine encounters.

On the other hands, Rupganj Tigers, who are still on race to move into the top six, will also have comparatively easy opponents when they will face City Club and Brothers Union, won three match each out of their previous nine matches.

In all respect, rest of the two rounds of the first phase will be very exciting, as three teams are yet to be decided, who will join Abahani, Sk Jamal and Legend of Rupganj.

Meanwhile, out of three, two teams have already confirmed to play the relegation when Shinepukur and Dhaka Leopards are two bottom sides of the points table when any of three - Agrani Bank, City Club and Brothers Union will fight to avoid the relegation, as all of them earned six points, winning as many three matches each.
