Three people were stabbed to death in Kapasia Upazila of Gazipur district on Sunday.
The incident took place in Dakshingaon area of Sanmania union of the upazila on Sunday over a Facebook status involving a woman.
The deceased were identified as Naeem (18), son of Alam Hossain and Faruk (26), son of Alam Miah of Dakshingaon area of the upazila and Robin (15) son of Hiran Miah.
According to local sources, two groups of people started quarrel over a Facebook status involving a woman. Three of them, Naeem, Faruk and Robin were stabbed by the opponents. The seriously injured were rushed to Manohardi Upazila Health Complex in Narsingdi where the doctors on duty declared Naeem and Faruk dead. On the other hand, Robin was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Kapasia Officer-in-Charge (OC) ASM Nasim said Naeem and Faruk died after being taken to Manohardi Hospital while Robin died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Action will be taken in this regard, the OC added.
