Armed Police Battalion (APBn) detained three Rohingyas, along with firearms, from Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday night.
Two one shooter guns, one locally made revolver, three rounds of rifle bullets, four rounds of pistol bullets and three rounds of shotgun cartridges were recovered from them at that time.
The detainees are identified as Md Rahim, 24, son of Md Siddique, resident of block G in camp no. 7, Mohammad Nur, 27, son of Saber Ahmed, resident of block M/10 in camp no. 18 and Mohammad Faiz, 32, son of Mohammad Jafor, resident of block C/6 in camp no. 6.
Captain of APBn-14, Additional Deputy Inspector General (ADIG) Md Iqbal, confirmed the matter on Friday morning.
They were detained after a drive was conducted at the Rohingya camp adjacent to the Balurmath police camp of the upazila at around 11:30 pm on Thursday.
ADIG Md Iqbal said three Rohingyas, one of them is accused in murder case, were detained after conducting a special drive at Ukhiya Balurmath Rohingya camp. Arms, bullets and cartridges were recovered from them at that time. Detainee Mohammad Faiz has four cases against him, including murder case.
Legal procedure against them is under way, said ADIG Md Iqbal.
