A Dhaka court on Friday placed three people on one-day remand each in a case lodged over carrying out assault on Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence personnel and vehicles on April 4.
The remanded accused are Showkot Hossain, 55, Idris, 30, and Khalil, 36.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mainul Islam passed the order as police produced the trio before the court and pleaded to place them on three-day remand each. The defence, however, argued for cancelling the remand plea and releasing them on bail.
The court also set May 17 for submitting probe report in the case.
Fire service senior station officer MdShahinAlam filed the case with Bangshal Police Station today
against 250-300 unnamed persons for carrying out attack on firemen and vandalizing 14 vehicles.
Unruly people launched an attack on Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence station in Siddique Bazar, as the firemen were trying to douse the devastating fire in Bangabazar in the morning on April 4. They injured four fire service personnel and vandalized everything in their sight.
