Three-day intl. scientific conference begins Oct 26

The three-day 17th International Scientific Conference 2025 is going to be held at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) from Sunday, October 26 to October 28. The theme of this year's conference has been set as 'Interdisciplinary coordination of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems for improving health, food security and nutrition.

Keeping this theme in mind, this year's conference will give special emphasis on research, innovation and international cooperation.

CVASU Vice-Chancellor and Conference Organizing Committee Chairman Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman said these things at a press conference organized at the CVASU administrative building ahead of the conference last Thursday.

He said that the 7 sub-themes of the conference are - livestock and poultry management, blue economy, food security and processing, livestock development through genetic tools, healthcare of pets and wildlife, One Health system and innovation in research. He said that the inaugural ceremony of the conference will be held on Sunday at the CVASU Auditorium.

The chief guest will be Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, Education Advisor. The special guests will be Professor Dr. Md. Alimul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Sylhet Agricultural University and Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan, Vice Chancellor of State University of Bangladesh. The presided by CVASU vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman. The keynote address will be presented by Dr. Alasdair Alex J. Cook, a renowned veterinary epidemiologist and Emeritus Professor of the UK.

The conference convener and Director of CVASU One Health Institute, Professor Dr. Md. Ahsanul Haque will deliver the welcome address. In the first part of the second day, Bangladesh Maritime University Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Wahab will present the paper. In the second part, Rajshahi University Professor Dr. Md. Abu Reza and former Principal of Chittagong Medical College and renowned internist and nephrologist of the Center for Specialized Care and Research, Chittagong, Professor Dr. Emran Bin Yunus will present the paper. In the first part of the third day, Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University Professor Dr. Md.
