Three bodies recovered in Teknaf, one held

Law enforcement agencies in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar recovered three men’s bodies who were abducted on April 28 from the upazila.

Two separate teams of RAB and police on Wednesday recovered the bodies from the upazila’s Domdomia hill.

The deceased were identified as the Mohammad Yusuf, resident of Jalalabad Sawdager Para of Idgaon upazila, Rubel, resident of Choufoldondi union and Imran from Cox's Bazar city’s Nuniachara area. They all were friends.

Family sources of the abducted people said that they were all friends. They went in Teknaf on April 28 to meet a girl for marriage purpose. On the way, a gang of kidnapper abducted them into deep forest of hilly area there. 

Later, the kidnapper demanded Tk 30 lakhs to release the detainees. On information, their families communicated with law enforcement agencies seeking help to rescue the detainees. But it was not possible as the kidnapper constantly changes their hideout places.

Later, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a person connected with the incident with the help of technology and conduct a raid to the hideout place on information and recovered the bodies.

Teknaf police station acting Officer In Charge (OC) Abdul Halim said, “We conducted raid into the deep forest of the hilly areas after getting information from the arrested person and recovered the bodies.”
