Three bodies of a family recovered

Police recovered the bodies of three members of a family from their bedroom at Balapara village under Barobeel union at Gangachara upazila in Rangpur on Saturday morning.

The victims were identified as Hafizul Islam, 30, his wife Fatema Begum, 25, and their 18-month old minor daughter Humayra. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gangachara Model police station Shushanto Kumar Sarker confirmed the matter. 

The OC said, on information police rushed to the spot and found the slaughtered bodies of Fatema and Humayra on the floor while the body of Hafizul Islam was hanging from the roof of their bedroom.

Police suspected that Hafizul might have slaughtered his wife and daughter first following a family feud and then hanged himself in the small hours.

Senior officials of the district police, Rapid Action Battalions (RAB)-13, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) from Rangpur city visited the spot.

The bodies were sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, said the OC, adding that they were investigating into the matter to find out the real motive behind the incident.
