With the advent of coronavirus, there have been a number of critical issues that have arisen in the country. One of the more worrying issues is the question of expatriate workers who have returned to the country but got stranded here with no way of returning to their work destination. This issue has been solved after a number of incidents like street protests by such migrant workers.

Now, it seems that there might be another such incident where migrant workers are going to get stranded in Bangladesh. As per a report published in this daily, with the new strand of the deadly coronavirus detected in the UK many countries are cancelling regular flights for safety reasons.

This is very disconcerting news as there are thousands of Bangladeshi people who live and work in the Middle East, and we are yet to see what authorities have thought about these people.

This second wave with a new mutated

variety of virus might prove costly for the world

Already the new mutation of coronavirus has caused panic to spread across the globe anew and common people are becoming sufferers. Although this panic is for good reason after the massive death toll that cost millions too. Thus, a pre-emptive closure of flights and borders is a sure way to contain everything within the borders.

The report also elaborates, 21 Saudi Arabia bound flights have been cancelled which was supposed to take 5,000 people from Dhaka to Saudi Arabia and also 6,000 people were supposed to return from Saudi Arabia to Dhaka. Now everything has fallen into a limbo as people wait for updates.

Above all, we hope that the authorities concerned will take necessary steps to counter act the second wave of coronavirus from wreaking havoc and be better prepared than the previous months.
