Plot to destroy religious harmony must not be spared

A foolproof security arrangement will be taken from a day before starting the Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu community which will continue until immersion of the idols across the country.

The five-day Durga Puja will be celebrated in different puja mandaps in the country from October 20 to 24 amid tight security measures. So, the government has taken strict security measures to ensure peaceful celebration of upcoming Durga Puja.

We believe our country is now a safe haven for all people irrespective of caste, creed, and religious affinity as communal harmony exists here. People of all religions are now living peacefully in the country.

Therefore, the country will reach its dream destination with united efforts of all communities as it has already become a role model of development today because of the non-communal spirit of the government. But after '75, the anti-liberation clique, war criminals, defeated forces, the August 15 killers had wanted to divide the country with communalism.

People of all

religions are now

living peacefully

 in the country

In fact, they also wanted to make Bangladesh unstable and exploit the people of the country with communalism humiliated the Liberation War. And they are still conspiring against Bangladesh in many ways and trying to destroy the communal harmony.

When the celebration of Durga Puja goes on across the country amid great enthusiasm and festive mood, the vested elements are out to create religious discrimination and unrest in the country. We think the evil forces are pampered by some elements at home and abroad which had acted against Bangladesh's Liberation War.

The religion was the key in the system of Pakistani state but, human being is main identity irrespective of all religions in the Bengalee's eye. Therefore, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had realised that our freedom is not possible in the system of Pakistani state formed based on religion. And he (Bangabandhu) had established the independent state Bangladesh in the non-communal spirit. We believe there will be no place of communal forces in our country which achieved independence through blood of all religions under the leadership of Bangabandhu. And today, a non-communal Bangladesh stands under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Our country is now a unique example of communal harmony before the world.

All must remain alert and should resist the evil forces together for the welfare of the country and its people. Besides, those involved in destroying religious harmony must be brought to justice and no offender will be spared. In this regard, people imbued with spirit of Liberation War must get united against those who want to destroy the communal harmony in the country before the general election.
