There will be no unpaved roads in the Chattogram city: CCC Mayor

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that along with the construction of new roads, the renovation of the existing roads of Chittagong is being emphasized to improve the quality of road communication in Chattogram.

 The CCC mayor made this comment while inaugurating the Kadmatoli-Dewanhat flyover renovation work of North Pathantuli ward on Monday.  This important flyover of Chattogram is being renovated at a cost of Tk 1 crore 89 lakhs.

 CCC Mayor said, Chattogram is the main commercial city of Bangladesh.  As improved road connectivity is essential for the expansion of trade, I emphasize the construction of new roads as well as the renovation of existing roads.  Along with this flyover, all the roads in this area will be renovated during my tenure.

He said, If all the ongoing projects are implemented, Chattogram will not have any unpaved roads even at the ward level.  Due to the improved communication system, large international investments will come to Chattogram in the future.  As a result, the problem of unemployment in Chattogram will be solved on the one hand and Chattogram will become the hub of world trade on the other hand.

 CCC Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam said that development work worth Tk 25 crore is currently underway in North Pathantuli ward.  When these works are completed, no road in the ward will remain incomplete.

 CCC Supervising Engineer Monirul Huda, Biplab Dash, North Pathantuli Ward Awami League President Idris Kazemi, General Secretary Wahidur Rahman Mohsin, Md Ibrahim, Ward Awami League Advisor Abdul Shukur Chowdhury and other CCC officials and local leaders were present.
