Bangladeshi theatre troupe Theatre Factory is going to stage the 13th show of its most discussed play ‘Asharashya Pratham Dibashey’ today at the Mahila Samity auditorium in Baily road of the capital.

The drama’s story focuses on the poet Kalidas. Mallika is an indispensable character in this play. This drama is about the touching events of Kalidas and Mallika's life.

The play sends a lot of attention to how nature and love hold hands, how love provides artistic supplies, how much love rises like a star on a night sky in the courtyard of life.

Many aspects of the state's relationship with the artist gets illuminated in this way. Kalidas lives in a Himalayan village and refuses to be anywhere else.

Though the villagers, including Mallika’s mother, fail to comprehend Kalidas’ merit, Mallika tells Kalidas that he will gain popularity if he goes to the capital. Kalidas travels to the capital at request of Mallika and gradually achieves fame as poet.

The king becomes impressed after reading Kalidas’ works. He makes Kalida his son in law.

After Kalidas becomes the ruler of the kingdom, he decides to visit his village again.

He travels to the village and finds that a lot has changed over the years. He tries to pen poems again but fails to find suitable words. The play ends with Kalidas realising that back then it was Mallika who inspired him to pen his greatest works.

The play has been written by Mohon Rakesh, translated by Angshuman Bhowmik and directed by Alok Basu. Shanjita Sharmin, Shamsun Nahar Beauty, Ramiz Raju, Surovy Roy, Hasanuzzaman Khan, and others have acted in the play.
