Vidya Balan's 'The Dirty Picture' was released in December 2011 and 10 years later, the movie is getting a sequel. According to a report, Ekta Kapoor has brought screenplay writer Kanika Dhillon to pen the script of the film. The report further stated that Kanika along with another male writer is working on the script of the sequel.
Reportedly, the scripting work will finish by the end of the year. Ekta and her production team are excited about their new project. The film will start rolling in the first quarter of 2023. On the other hand, Rajat Arora who wrote the first installment is not working on the second part.
The report added that Taapsee Pannu and Kriti Sanon have shown their interest to star in the movie. Though Ekta wanted Kangana Ranaut as the lead, the 'Manikarnika' actress has turned down the offer. The information about who will direct the movie or if Milan Luthria will return to helm the second installment is not out yet.
The story of the film will have nothing to do with Silk Smitha and a new story is in the works. However, the report suggested that the movie will be about another bold story of a powerful woman.
