After a long hiatus, Kamruzzaman Kamu’s feature film ‘The Director’ will be released in this Eid. The film will have to compete with Shakib Khan’s first production ‘Password’, Shakib Khan-starrer ‘Nolok’, Tariq Anam Khan and Orchita Sporshia-starrer ‘Abar Bashanta’ and Impress Telefilm’s ‘Goyendagiri’. But unlike the other films, ‘The Director’ will not be released in cinemas, rather the film will be released on YouTube channel of SUN bdtube.
The production of the film started in 2007, while it was submitted to censor board in 2013. After much debacle and protests, it got the censorship certificate in 2015. Finally, the film is going to see its release in 2019.
The film shows that police mistakenly accuses an innocent man and takes him into custody, which prompts a funny and quirky rescue effort by a friend of that innocent man.
The film stars Marzuk Russel, Popi, Mosharraf Karim, Tanvin Sweety, Tareq Mahmud, Nafiza Jahan, Bappi Ashraf, Nafa and the director Kamruzzaman Kamu himself.
A teaser and two songs of the film have already been released on the YouTube channel of SUN bdtube. One of the songs titled ‘Ami Tomar Director, Tumi Heroine’ is written by Marjuk Russel and sung by Momtaz and Russel himself. Another song ‘Hater Upor Hater Porosh Robe Naa’ is written, composed and sung by director Kamruzzaman Kamu.
Supported by Wee Hours CrowdFunding, the film will be released on the day of Eid.
